Best Yogurt Making at Home – What Works Best?

I’ve recently started looking into yogurt making at home because I’d like to have more control over the ingredients and avoid relying on store-bought yogurt all the time. I’m especially interested in getting a smooth, thick texture without making the whole process too complicated. While researching yogurt making, I noticed there are quite a few different methods and products available. Some seem very simple and beginner-friendly, while others offer more control over temperature and fermentation time. After comparing several options, I found two that seem suitable for what I need:

[12.8L Smart Yogurt Maker Machine

[Stainless Steel Yogurt Maker with 1 Quart

Both look good overall, but I’m still unsure which one would be the better choice for regular home use. My main priorities are consistent results, easy cleaning, and a setup that doesn’t require too much monitoring. For those who make yogurt at home regularly, what has worked best for you? Is there anything important I should look for before choosing between these two options? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience with yogurt making and any tips you wish you knew when you first started.

Non-electric is best since the price is low and almost unbreakable

I use two 1ltr thermos flasks to cure the yoghurt. Bring 2lts of whole organic milk to 90degC, hold at that temperature for a few minutes then cool to 45deg. You can encourage cooling by immersing the pan in a sink full of cold water. Then either add your culture or yoghurt, fill the flasks (sterilised first with boiling water) and cure for either 12hrs (culture) or 4hrs (yoghurt).
