How to Make Frozen Yogurt At Home without Ice Cream Maker

Frozen yogurt is great for the summer or winter holidays, especially when combined with poached mulled wine pears, baked apple slices, or other delicious toppings.

However, frequently the lack of ice cream machines prevents us from trying. The devices can reduce the time enormously, but if you are at home anyway, you definitely can do it using nothing other than your hands.

First, make 4 cups of Greek-style yogurt for best results or watch our other videos to see how to make it. Greek-style yogurt is well-strained so no liquids can ruin your dessert. Mix the yogurt with 1 cup of honey and 2 spoons of vanilla in a bowl. If you use a blender this could be a very quick process, but if you whisk it by hand, it might take longer, or about 10 minutes until the mixture becomes soft and fluffy.

Transfer the mixture to a glass baking dish and spread evenly, then cover the dish to prevent the yogurt mixture from absorbing any freezer ‘’flavour’’ and put in the freezer for 1 hour.

After an hour, take out the mix and stir well as you spread it again. Then cover and put it in the freezer again for the next 2-3 hours, taking the mixture out to stir every 30 - 45 minutes. It seems like a lot of stirring, but this maintains a scoopable consistency.

You also can add fruits after it is ready or arrange things around the cake. If you wish for a fruity flavour, you can add some cut fruit pieces in the beginning together with the yogurt, honey, and vanilla.

As you can see it is not that hard to enjoy frozen yogurt or kefir even if you do not have ice cream machine.
