Why yogurt starter kit is so expensive?

hello , dear NPSelection team first i want thank yiu guys for making this " How the Freeze - Dried Kefir and Yogurt Starter Cultures are Made" video .in my country 1 litter milk peice is 0.69 doller per litter and yogurd price is 1.85 doller per kg than why people will use 1 doller worth of 1 yogurt starter kit ? actually for few days i have been looking for any information about " 1. yogurt starter kit menufectureing process ?and 2. the cost of menufectureing yogurd starter kit ? 3. why yogurt starter kit is so expensive? i didnt found any information about " commertial yogurt starter menufectureing process,cost ,etc actully their is no information about commertial starter menufectureing untill i found your video “How the Freeze - Dried Kefir and Yogurt Starter Cultures are Made” so my query and request is " can you please tell me what is the information source for that perticular video " if you dont know any of the answer above can you please tell from where i might get those information"

  1. This is a custom process developed by just a few scientists in this world and backed up by patents
  2. The cost is high as the equipment is customised, expensive and the people that work with that equipment are PHD granted as a minimum. Additionally a lot of milk, natural gas and electricity is needed to make that equipment work as requested and produce the product with the perfect quality.
  3. Well, both points above explain why is like that - there are few companies on this planet that have access to scientists in biotechnologies, equipment and other resources needed.
  4. The sources are the scientists that made that. We believe that at some point someone might be better than us(find a more efficient process) and wish at that point to have the same as a minimum so we can improve.
  5. You should study Biotechnology to be able to understand and recreate the process
  6. The information is available in the scientific libraries and the patents are a public information
